Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered into a search box is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its response. We do not keep a separate log or stored copy of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email is retained as needed to read and answer it. Messages remain within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our systems automatically receive basic technical and usage details when a page loads:
- Page-view times and the duration of visits
- The device's assigned IP address
- Browser name and version
- Device category and operating system
- Pages opened during the visit
- Any referring website information supplied by the browser
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that help measure page traffic and general navigation patterns. Analytics vendors combine this usage information into reports. Browser controls can block cookies, although turning them off may change how some functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search request to the provider that operates the selected tool
- Maintaining availability, performance, and page speed
- Finding technical faults and correcting them
- Understanding which pages are useful and where navigation can improve
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not host, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Etowah County guidance points to the sheriff, local courts, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, and Alabama Sex Offender Registry as the official sources. Visitor data is not turned into a third-party record or consumer report, and this website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and disclosure rules apply to information submitted through those tools. Because we do not control those practices, review the provider's policy before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff, court, state agency, legal resource, or outside search websites. Once another site opens, its policy governs the visit. Review that policy before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads. We do not operate that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics vendors measuring site traffic and performance
- Outside providers processing a search query
- Advertising networks placing content on a page
- A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected information. No internet service can guarantee complete security, so a breach-free system cannot be promised.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If information from a minor is identified, a deletion request can be made.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law may grant additional rights. Alabama's public-writing access rule appears at Code of Alabama § 36-12-40, while criminal-history access and disclosure limits include § 41-9-601. These statutes govern government or criminal-history records and do not turn this private resource into a record custodian. At a minimum, you may:
- Request access to personal data held about you
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Seek deletion of eligible personal data
- Decline certain processing where that right applies
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. A new version becomes available here with its current effective date, so returning visitors can review any change in data practices.
Effective date: July 15, 2026
